Sonic the Hedgehog was first released as a video game by the Japanese publisher Sega in 1991. In the jump 'n' run, the title character Sonic had to jump and climb over various obstacles in order to prevent Doctor Robotnik from taking over the world. The game was followed by several sequels, TV series and 2 hugely successful movies. Reason enough to give Sonic a place to rest at home, immortalized as a statue or action figure.
