I was amazed when I read the news about the Retro Edition and the Star Wars board game in Star Wars Fan Magazine. As a fan and collector of the "connoisseur" article from the 70s and 80s, the anticipation was accordingly great and the pre-order at Actionfiguren24 was not long in coming.
With the idea to present both figures and the game design-wise in the "connoisseur" style, my collector's generation will be excellently served. The icing on the cake of the "Star Wars: Escape from the Death Star" game is, in my view, the enclosed action figure of the "Grand Moff Tarkin", which I had painfully missed as a character in my childhood days. This Hasbro is a real stroke of genius (for Star Wars collectors of the "first hour") succeeded, I was thus fulfilled a 40-year-old wish ... The game itself is based on the classic board game from the 70s and was spiced up a bit. For example, the R2-D2 turntable is a modification to the original game. Play and figure experience the old connoisseur design without being a 1: 1 copy. For me, this is excellently designed, and the packaging design brings many childhood memories - wonderful!
For fans of the classic connoisseur products, there is probably no passing the game and the characters. Anyway, I'm completely excited and looking forward to Wave 2 of the action figures. And let's see what ideas Hasbro is still developing ...
