Disney and Super7 have started an exciting partnership! Super7, the makers of the popular action figure series such as ReAction and the Ultimates with MOTU, Thundercats, TMNT, Conan etc. are now spreading a lot of magic!
Super7 Ultimates series will gain a whole new facet with the characters from the Magic Kingdom. There has never been a better rendering of Disney characters like with this series.
The first character is the sorcerer's apprentice Mickey Mouse, as he appeared in Walt Disney's groundbreaking masterpiece Fantasia from 1940. It's unbelievable how super posable this figure is. It features three interchangeable heads, interchangeable hands, two water buckets, an animated broom, an ax and the magician's huge spellbook. The sorcerer's apprentice also wears a tailor-made, velvety soft magician's robe with a real rope tie. The team at Super7 didn't try to modernize its look, they just captured it perfectly, just like how it appeared in Fantasia. Just great.
The second figure, Pinocchio from the masterpiece 'Pinocchio' from 1940 is just as great. This equally posable figure comes complete with 3 interchangeable heads, the growing nose, interchangeable hands, his conscience Jiminy Cricket, school book, ax, apple, Cleo's fishbowl and Figaro the cat. He shows himself in an elegant fabric vest with gold trim. Just wonderful.
When it comes to the authentic portrayal of the characters, the third figure is a real highlight: Prince John by Robin Hood from 1973. The perfectly fussy way in which the animation master Milt Kahl drew the character comes into its own. The figure comes with three interchangeable heads, interchangeable hands with and without the jewels on his rings, a cosmetic mirror and two versions of the slippery assistant Sir Hiss. He is appropriately dressed in the luxurious, plush royal velvet robe with fur trim.
