A mainstay of the Polish Air Force
The MiG-21MF is an export version of the Soviet third-generation fighter, equipped with an R-13-300 engine and an RP-22 radar. The first MiG-21s arrived in Poland in 1963, at a time of growing rivalry between East and West. The aircraft quickly became a mainstay of the Polish Air Force. Deliveries of the MiG-21MF version between 1972 and 1975 brought up to 120 aircraft into service, which remained in operation until 2003. The MF version represented a significant modernisation: a new radar, an improved engine, the capability to carry R-60 air-to-air missiles and a larger fuel capacity. As a result, the MiG-21MF was not only fast and manoeuvrable, but also exceptionally dangerous in aerial combat – both in Poland and in other Eastern Bloc states.

The aircraft saw action in numerous conflicts around the world, including in the Middle East (Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Israel), in Africa (Uganda, Tanzania), in Asia (Vietnam, the Indo-Pakistani War) and in South America (Cuba).

381 parts – The set consists of precision-moulded bricks that faithfully reproduce the aircraft’s key features: from the characteristic fuselage silhouette and air intakes to the armament and landing gear details.
Decals with Polish and Soviet markings – The elements allow for the construction of both the Polish (VRL) and Soviet versions. All insignia, numbers and symbols are durable and printed directly onto the bricks. This eliminates the need for stickers and achieves a realistic collector’s effect.

Replica regiment insignia – The front of the fuselage features a black dragon holding a lightning bolt and a chequered shield. This is a detailed replica of the insignia of the 10th Fighter Regiment in Łask, where the MiG-21 MF was stationed.
