The F-14 TOMCAT is a true icon of Cold War aviation. It entered service with the US Navy in 1972 and was not officially decommissioned until 2006. Designed by the Grumman Corporation, the fighter first took to the skies in 1970 and quickly became the backbone of US aircraft carrier defence.
