This was the famous ‘Pirate Rally’ in the Atlantic involving the battleships Scharnhorst and Gneisenau!
The block model of the Gneisenau has been covered with high-quality prints that do not wear off even during use. Noteworthy is the meticulously reproduced shape of the hull and the attention to retaining as many details as possible. The model features numerous moving parts such as: propellers, rudders, rotating turrets and gun barrels that can be raised and lowered. The set also includes a very sturdy and attractive black display stand and a white plaque bearing the ship’s name. Although the ship is very large, its construction is straightforward thanks to the intuitive assembly instructions based on clear symbols. With nearly 2,500 elements, it offers hours of building fun and a stunning visual impact! The Gneisenau is an ideal starting point for fans of history, military technology, the armed forces and the navy. Express your passion and build history block by block!
The Gneisenau was a German battleship from the Second World War, commissioned on 21 May 1938. Both the Scharnhorst and the Gneisenau represented a new class of German battleships. They were characterised by their larger dimensions, greater speed and more powerful armament. They were built in response to the expansion of the French navy. The Gneisenau took part in many combat operations, including the famous Operation Berlin in 1941, where it proved highly effective. It was scuttled in Gdynia on 28 March 1945 to block the harbour.
