Product information "Historical Collection WWII - Battleship Bismarck"

The Bismarck was a German battleship from the Second World War, commissioned on 24 August 1940. Alongside its sister ship, the Tirpitz, it was the largest vessel in the Kriegsmarine. On 28 September 1940, the Bismarck set out on its maiden voyage. It was sunk on 27 May 1941 during a naval battle.

The ship model created by COBI has been produced on a scale of 1:300. It consists of 2,789 pieces and is 86.5 cm long. The latest edition of the Bismarck is a ship that has been designed entirely from scratch. It contains over 700 more bricks than previous editions. It faithfully reproduces the proportions of the historic ship and retains all essential elements, including the original camouflage. The model features the so-called ‘Baltic paint scheme’, i.e. camouflage with, for example, black and white stripes and red tips on the gun turrets. Such colours were used during training exercises in the Baltic Sea. Many of the bricks feature high-quality, scratch-resistant printing! The model features numerous moving parts such as propellers, rudders, rotating turrets and gun barrels that can be raised and lowered. The set also includes a black brick stand with a plaque bearing the ship’s name. The model is huge, makes a great display piece, and we particularly recommend it to history and maritime enthusiasts, as well as collectors. No gluing or painting is required, as the entire hull and all elements are made from COBI building blocks.
