Product information "Historical Collection WWII - Kübelwagen Typ 82"

Now you can own the legendary German off-road vehicle, the Kübelwagen Type 82, in a version made from COBI building blocks! This is our first large-scale 1:12 model from World War II! It was built based on a museum piece at the German Tank Museum in Münster (Germany). It is huge, VERY detailed, and looks impressive when paired with the upcoming Tiger 131 from The Tank Museum! Set (#2803)

With 1,326 pieces and generous dimensions, this set is in a class of its own. When assembled, the Kübelwagen is 30.5 cm long. Attention is drawn to the meticulously reproduced interior, the outstanding exterior design, and all-new elements developed specifically for the needs of such a large set. The car’s interior is detailed in every part, including the steering wheel, seats, buttons, switches, and the engine compartment, which even contains additional tools! The exterior also raises the bar in terms of the accuracy of proportions and details that only a kit of this size can offer. Suffice it to mention its own windows, opening doors, access to the trunk lid and engine compartment, trim elements, and swivel wheels that can be moved via the steering wheel. Our 1:28 scale models are considered highly detailed. However, it is the 1:12 scale and 1,326 elements that allow us to showcase the capabilities of the COBI building block system. The Kübelwagen represents a new level of design, photorealism, and impressive size and precision. In this case, it’s all about the number of blocks!

The Kübelwagen Type 82 set was developed in collaboration with the German Tank Museum in Münster (Germany). We hope that both collectors and COBI fans will have just as much fun building and displaying this car as we did designing and building it. For anyone who loves militaria, military technology, and history, this is an opportunity to bring a significant piece of that history home. Build history block by block!

The Kübelwagen Type 82 was a German military off-road vehicle produced during World War II. It was developed in response to the Wehrmacht’s need for a low-maintenance, economical, and reliable vehicle for use in varied terrain. Between 1940 and 1945, more than 50,000 units of this vehicle were produced. It was primarily used as an off-road, transport, medical, and reconnaissance vehicle, as well as a platform for mounting light weapons. After World War II, some of the surviving Kübelwagens continued to be used by various countries and as civilian vehicles. Thanks to its functionality, lightness, and reliability, the Kübelwagen has become a classic symbol of the off-road vehicle and is still appreciated today by automotive enthusiasts around the world.
